I received a box of brand-new goodies from My Favorite Things this weekend, and I couldn't wait to use my latest playthings for this week's Mojo Monday sketch, #268. Here's this week's sketch...
And here's what I created with it, using the YOU SHINE a la mode:
Isn't she lovely? I haven't said this in a while, so if you're fairly new to my blog, you may not be aware of this fact that I shout out every time I use an a la mode: MY NEICE ILLUSTRATED THAT! Yep, she's a very talented young lady (who's birthday is later this week, on the 25th - Happy B-day, Amanda!). I'd like to say that talent runs in the family, but there's a reason I stamp instead of draw... *sigh*
I kept my card pretty simple, to keep the emphasis on the cute gal tangled up in lights. I added some sparkle via a Sakura Stardust pen, spread with water (a tip from my pal Jen del Muro), so the lights are very shiny IRL. Otherwise, this card is fairly straightforward stuff.
Visit my fellow Mojo Makers for more inspiration, and be sure to visit the Mojo Monday Blog to learn how you can play along with us in this week's sketch.

I'll be back later this week with a few things you'll really like (<--- please say like Rocky the Flying Squirrel): sneaky peeks from THE CAT'S PAJAMAS!
Supplies used - Stamps: You Shine from My Favorite Things; Paper: patterned paper from Echo Park's Holly Jolly Christmas 6"x6" pad, Copic X-Press Blending cardstock, Chocolate Chip & Taken With Teal (SU!), Gumdrop Green (MFT); Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Versafine Vintage Sepia; Accessories: Nestabilities Circles and Scallop Circles, Lil Inker's Flags & Tags dies (banner); Kaiser Sparklets, Copic Markers, Sakura Stardust pen, Jody's Foam Boosters.

Carole, she's so sweet! Coloured BEAUTIFULLY too! Now you have me wishing I'd ordered her :( I was afraid that after 3 week shipping it may not get to me in time to create and mail before the holiday cut off. Oh well, I'll order her up next go round!

Love all the bright cheery colours on this card, Carole! You coloured the image fabulously and the hot pink, sparkly button is perfect :) How fun that your niece is the A La Mode designer too!!! Wonderful use of your sketch :)

Just darling, Carole! I am not new to your blog; however, I didn't know your niece illustrated the a la Modes - I absolutely adore them (including this cutie who just arrived at my home)!
Have a wonderful week and Happy Thanksgiving!

Super cute card Carole. I know you are too proud of your niece. She's awesome just like her Aunt. ;-)

Great job on the card sketch, Carole. I made a card tonight using your layout and it turned out wonderful. And by the way, Rocky and Bullwinkle was one of my favorite Saturday morning cartoons...along with the oh- so-cute Johnny Quest! Ha! Have a blessed Thanksgiving. All my best to you and your family.
