Aren't you excited?! Not only is it *PRIZE WEEK* for MOJO MONDAY (one of the all-time greatest sketch challenges in the history of the stamping universe), but it's also the very first Mojo Monday of 2013! I know THOUSANDS of you (including myself) have a New Year's Resolution to do every single Mojo Monday sketch this year, and this is where it begins: THIS IS THE FIRST MOJO MONDAY OF THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!!!
Don't you feel inspired?! Of course you do! Thus, I know you're ready to see this week's sketch, and here it is - behold:
And here's what I created with said sketch, using the ADORABLE new WHEELY GREAT (with fabulous coordinating die) set from Taylored Expressions:
As long-time readers know, I have a convertible Volkwagen Beetle1, so I adore me some 'Bug' stamps and dies. This one? A too-cute no-brainer for moi! Coincidentally, I just found out from a high school friend via Facebook that the teacher who bestowed upon me my love for convertible Beetles2 is ill. My friend sent several of us Barstow Azetcs messages with beloved teacher's current address and encouraged us to send cards to cheer her up. What a perfect opportunity to reconnect and brighten a fellow-Beetle lover's day.

Footnotes:
1. My main car - alas - is a white 2011 Honda Odyssey minivan. Really, with Carter and all of his equipment, it's the only way to go. The Beetle is a 'fun car' I tool around in mostly by myself.
2. I used to house-sit for she & her husband when they would go out of town, and she had a white convertible Beetle with the license plate 'NAMASTE'. A few years after we moved to Claremore, my darling husband - who knew my dream car was a vintage white convertible Beetle - bought me one for Mother's Day, and I got the exact same vanity plate. <3! Unfortunately my '76 Beetle was constantly breaking down and neither Sean nor I had the desire to learn how to fix it ourselves. Thus, we sold the old white bug and I now drive a red 2006 version gifted to me by my very generous father-in-law (after he got himself a new one. Lucky for me, my FIL loves VW Beetles, too. :) ).
What my old, charming Beetle looked like:

adorable card. losing that white beetle must have broken your heart. I lost my first car, an awesome Beetle to a.... AMC Gremlin!! Horrors.

Such a CUTE card, Carole! Love beetles too! I wanted one but my husband didn't like them as much as me :( So for my second car I bought a Camaro....lol....he doesn't seem to mind that one...haha!
Great looking sketch! I hope to play along EACH week too!!!

Are you kidding me?! You are so spoiled...and I love ya! All kidding aside, this is one sah-weet card, my friend. LOVE that you always seem to have the perfect paper in your stash...hmm, which came first, the paper or the stamp?!
Huggies,
Amy

LOVE the bug!! Such a great take on the sketch. Love the bright colours! I learned how to drive on a bug so they have as special place in my heart :) Cant' believe my brother and I both used to fit in the "booby hatch" when we were small!! Thanks for the trip down memory lane :)

Far out! :-) I adore this sweet love bug card! My first car I owned was a navy blue beetle and I loved it! I'd be in seventh heaven if I could get a second car and have a convertible bug. Hmmm...I'm dreaming...

I have a red Beetle too, not a convertible, but it is my dream car and I love it! I am always drawn to Beetle Bug stamps too, and this is just adorable. I adore the color combo.
Peace & Luv,
Jeannie

I so love your card! The colors and patterned papers are fab! Your classic white on white convertible bug was a beauty; no wonder you loved it so.
I, too, was a long time Beetle owner, so this really tugs on my heart. My first was a 1958 with the cloth sunroof (my absolute favorite). The one I had the longest was a 1970 Superbeetle (it actually had a defogger fan for the windshield woohoo) and it lasted drives all over the country while my husband was in the service. Thanks for sharing your great card and memories!

Old or new, Beetles rock! Their design is truly one of a kind! It’s the only car that you can easily identify because, really, it’s hard to miss that hunchback body. But sightings of these Beetles are actually rare in our area. So, my boyfriend and I celebrate every time we see one by tapping each other’s head after seeing one and pointing at where it is! This has become our private game, all because we love VW Beetles!
