One-Line Bio

Just a gal trying to bloom where she's planted.

Biography

I live in the middle of America with my husband, two dear sons, and two dogs.

Two years ago, my youngest son was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and it became clear that he would need intensive therapies for several years to reach his maximum potential. At that time, I left my position as an assistant professor at Rogers State University where I taught undergraduate law courses and coordinated the Legal Assisting Program. Around the same time, my husband started campaigning to become a member of the Oklahoma State Senate. He won his election in Nov. 2006, so since then I've been able to add "Political Wife" to my resume. To maintain my sanity during the dog days of campaigning, I found and immersed myself in the esoteric world of rubber stamping and paper crafting. Yeah, I know. If you don't do it, it sounds weird. If you do it, well, then you get it and you know how easy it is to become obsessed. And because I tend to be one of those all-or-nothing kind of gals... let's just say that "obsessed" might be considered an understatement.

Now, I spend my days coordinating therapy and doctors' appointments, and chauffering to and from preschool, upper elementary school, soccer and basketball practices and games, and enrichment programs, along with the usual domestic chores. When I can get a few moments to myself, I creep into my study/stamping studio and either make something or hang out on Splitcoaststampers (screen name: TruCarMa). I also love reading and writing, and I am very involved in our community and with various charitable organizations.

Life is crazy, but mosty in a good way.
