Newly anointed Dirty Girl*, Cindy Haffner, hosts a sketch challenge each Monday in the My Favorite Things member company forum on Splitcoast Stampers. One of my stamping resolutions is to participate in as many of these challenges as possible, so I am proclaiming all Mondays from this week forward as MFT Monday! Now, before you say "Ha -- I bet this'll last as long as Freaky Friday...", I'll have you know that Freaky Friday WILL be returning in 2008! Think of it as having gone on hiatus for a little retooling, but coming back better and stronger than ever before. But I digress...
This card is going to be sent to a stamping friend of mine who is experiencing an INCREDIBLE run of success in her stamping endeavors. I don't know how much info I can share, so I'll make this a blind item. This particular gal (there's one hint: she's female) has been named to yet another wonderful design team (she's on some of the best ones in the industry, IMO), so this card is supposed to represent a scene of us celebrating, which we will do the next time I get a chance to visit with her in person. I am on the left, in a demure little sun frock sipping... sparkling cider. She, on the other hand, has on a SEQUINED black shirt and a pink skirt with FEATHERED trim at the hem and is drinking Mad Dog 20/20. Any idea who this mystery stamper might be?!
Supplies Used -- Stamps: Meet Me at the Cafe, Behind the Scenes, and Essential Sentiments by My Favorite Things; Paper (all SU! unless otherwise noted): Pretty In Pink, Pixie Pink, Basic Black, Georgia Pacific White; Ink: Brilliance Archival Graphite Black, Pixie Pink, Basic Black, Pretty In Pink; Accessories: Copic Sketch markers, Black Stickles, Pixie Pink Fun Flock, Ribbon, Prima flowers, polka dot flower by Doodlebug Designs, large black brad.
(No, I don't have any "after" pics of my stamping room yet as it looks essentially the same as the "before" photos.)
*"Dirty Girl" definition for the uninitiated: a Dirty Girl is one of the past or current members of the rotating Splitcoaststampers Design Team. Each member serves a six-month stint and afterward is considered an alumni. Two new members are added to the team each month, and two rotate off into alumni land. Who the new members are going to be is always the subject of great interest and speculation, and it's kept top secret until the 15th of the month, when the new Dirty Dozen gallery for that month is revealed. It's the highest honor in all of stamping, and somewhat akin to Skull and Bones or the Masons. Perhaps they get together and wear robes and funny hats, chant and make sacrifices (of ink refills and glitter?) -- I just don't know. The Grand Poohbah is Julie HRR, and I'm pretty sure she isn't talking. In fact, I'd better stop chattering myself, and just direct you to the Dirty Dozen Fan Club info page. I'm quite possibly taking my life into my own hands by saying what I have. If you don't hear from me for again, or if this turns into a blog about cooking, well, you'll know why.
Hmmm...I have NO IDEA who that is...and who drinks MD20/20 anyway??? *SNORT*
