But first, here's a little somethin'-somethin' I made for yesterday's color challenge (to use Basic Black, Soft Sky, and Purely Pomegranate):
Julee (creative genius and owner of Verve Visual) has once again come up with the best sentiments, this time for Dads & Husbands in the new Father Figure set. In addition to having her own stamp line, she also creates fabulous sketches each week, and this card uses this week's Mojo Monday sketch. (Dang. She's so productive, it's almost kinda hard to like her, huh? I comfort myself that I, too, could do all of that and more if I didn't have those energy vampires otherwise known as 'kids'...) (You know I adore my children. I'm just sayin'.)
I thought this cute little Pip & Oggy image by DoodleFactory for Starving Artistamps would be just right to illustrate the notion of a little guy wanting to be like his Daddy. This'll be Carter's card to give his Dad this Father's Day.
By the way, Pip & Oggy were colored using my pal Jody Morrow's fab Drunken Watercolor technique. If you haven't tried it yet, you really should. I'm so excited that Jody and I will finally get to meet IN PERSON this Saturday at the Arlington Shoebox Swap! Another person who will be there that I've yet to meet IRL -- Cammie/Carolyn King! If you've ever been to an MFT release party, you may be a bit familiar with our shenanigans. (And if you haven't, well, you're missing out.) If we can cause that much trouble online, consider the mayhem that will erupt by us being in the same place at the same time?! I just hope the walls of the church where we'll be stamping don't implode...
Oh, and while I'm thinking of it, here are a couple of answers to some questions I've been asked over the past few days...
Q: What type of glue did you use with the Clear Scraps album?
A: Alma sent all of us a bottle of Zip Dry Paper Glue, which the Clear Scraps folks recommended to her. That stuff is wonderful! It goes on precisely and dries in a flash. In fact, I think I'm going to take it instead of lugging my ATG Gun to the swap this weekend.Q: What season are you?
A: I'm most likely a Summer, but I tend to dress like a Winter. I look like something Sprinkle would cough up in anything with warm, orange-y undertones.
Okay, now for the word of the day...
Dread: v. to think about with great fear or anxiety
Well, that may actually be a little bit stronger than how I feel, but for lack of a more precise term, let me say that I am dreading the day ahead of me. I have a ton of stuff to do in order to host Bunco at my house tonight, including some serious cleaning and cooking dinner and dessert for 12 women. I know it will be a lot of fun -- it always is -- but I dread and drag my heels around all day long, get distracted by this and that, and then have to furiously play catch up in the couple of hours before my friends arrive. Why? Why do I do this? I don't know. It just always seems to work out this way.
Okay -- here's my pep talk to myself: today will be different! You're going to post this, and then get to work! You won't be back online or even come near your stamp room until you have everything done! You're going to be so organized and so prepared, that a half hour before everyone arrives, you'll be relaxing on the couch, sipping a glass of wine and flipping through a magazine...
Think I can do it? I'll report back tomorrow and let you know. Until then...
Supplies used -- Stamps: Father Figure by Verve Visual, image by DoodleFactory/Starving Artistamps, oval by A Muse; Paper: Basic Black, Purely Pomegranate, Soft Sky, Georgia Pacific white, dsp by Stampin' Up!; Ink: Purely Pomegranate, Brilliance Archival Graphite Black, Going Gray, VersaFine Archival Onyx, Soft Sky re-inker; Accessories: Nestabilities, Copic Sketch Markers, AquaPen with Alcohol, Bella Bauble, ribbon from Taylored Expressions.

Amen, sistah! I know just what you mean about getting ready for company. I do the same thing. I tend to procrastinate in the morning and then by afternoon I am in a whirlwind of trying to get it all done in time. LOL I guess we need that little thing called a looming deadline to really kick us into gear!!!! Good luck and dare to be different today. I am rooting for you (especially around 4:00pm).

This card is super neat. I love the colors.
Sorry about "dread". Even saying that word makes you feel yucky-huh?!?!
I think I do the same thing when I am having company. I love having people over-but getting ready for it can be a pain! ;)

How's the no blogging, email, crafting thing working out for you today? I know what you mean, I'm so that way myself.
Have a great time at bunco tonight, and have a fantastic time at the swap. I'm green with envy that I can't come. I'll be making cupcakes and goodie bags here for Sammy's birthday instead.
Can't wait to hear all about it, and hugs to all of you!
Your fantastic card came in the mail today and made me SOO happy! Thanks a million!
