It's the swankiest stamping day of the week -- TCP Tuesday! Hurray! And today's Hipster Hostess with the Mostess, Ms. Susiestampalot is challenging all who want to play to use images from The Cat's Pajamas new Happy Camper stamp set.
This was just the nudge I needed to get Hootie (the name I've christened this cute owl with) inky...
I know I look really clever and fancy, but actually? This was pretty easy to make thanks to a kraft A2 Card Fold Out with Rounded Flaps from my pal Jody's Die Cut store. (I got a big box of die cuts, ribbon, and sticky stuff over the weekend from Jody's store, so it's Christmas in July in my craft room! :) ) All I had to do to finish it off was cut circles in More Mustard and some patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket's Mr. Campy line, divide them in two-ish, and adhere to the flaps.
The band was created by cutting a piece of Prism Suede Brown Dark cardstock in about a 8 3/4" x 2" length, and overlapping the ends on the backside. I covered it with some dee-lish wide olive green ric-rack (also from Jody), then topped it with Hootie strumming his... banjo? on top of the log. The sentiment is from the Mr. Campy Crafting Kit, as is the journaling card I put on the inside...
Just enough space to write a short note to my favorite Happy Camper (otherwise known as Truman). Truman leaves this morning for a couple of weeks at Kanakuk, and I try to send him a little something every day. Sometimes it's a card, other times a care package with a Nerf toy or book or something. He really enjoys going to Kamp -- this will be his sixth year -- and I love the chance to actually write him letters, telling him what a terrific kid he is. When he comes home, his footlocker stinks to high heaven, and he is ever-so-grateful for the luxuries of modern life, at least for the first week. :)
Why not be a Happy Camper, too, and come play with us? For all the details, be sure to head over to Susan's blog. Have a great day, keep your feet dry, and be sure to wear your bug repellant!

O M G, that is SO SO SO cute! I love it! I love that you were able to get the mats figured out for the flap card! What circle cutter did you use? I love the way you used the ric rac! I am jealous that I don't have any Mr. Campy paper, but I believe I have some on order! LOL LOVE Iit! Awesome job! I am super impressed and I will try to whip out my Happy Camper set today, because YOU made me want it and I haven't had time to get it inky! :(
