A few things have me floating on air today! First, I actually completed a Splitcoast Challenge on the day it was issued -- that hasn't happened in FOR-EVER! Here's what I came up with using today's SCS sketch challenge, flipped on it's side... Does that image look familiar? It's actually a new limited edition My Favorite Things' set called On the Pier, and is in fact a re-tooled version of one of my very favorite MFT sets ever, By the Seashore. I love that Who's That Girl is now in a frame.
MFT has come up with a new, exciting concept called MFT Kits: Just Add Color!
Each month, a new Kit will be revealed, complete with an exclusive, unreleased stamp set, and the items you’ll need to complete a very special project(s).
When the Kits sell out, they're gone, and the stamp sets won't be released for at least 3 months after their particular Kits go on sale. So if you like the image you see above, get it while it's hot, because you won't have another chance at it until at least October!
Here's a look at the By The Seashore Kit:
Kit contents:
*On The Pier (mini stamp set)
*6 die-cut tall gable boxes in ocean blue
*15 yards of hemp in natural
*6 Perfect Paper Panels
*5 yards, 3/8” twill in natural
*100 aged copper brads
*Memento Dew Drop in Rich Cocoa
*Project sheet download
Kit cost: $25.00. Here's a thought that just occurred to me: these would make great birthday gifts for stamping/crafty friends, don't you think? Wanna see actual samples of what these look like, all put together? Then feast your eyes on what my sweet & talented friends Michele and Joanne have created.
Back to the program. So for my card? I was inspired the image to Just Add Color in the form of watercoloring with my Adirondack re-inkers. It looks a little light in the photo, but it's really quite soft and pretty in real life... Here are the colors I've used:
Skin: Peach Bellini
Shirt & Shoes: Juniper
Pants: Stonewashed
Pier: Sandal, followed by Latte
Dog: Lemonade
Sky: Cloudy Blue
This post is already so long, I just don't have it in me to tell you my non-stamping-related HUGE news right now. So, I'm going to save that for tomorrow. But here's a hint: it's LIFE-CHANGING!!!
Supplies used:
Stamps: On the Pier by MFT
Paper: Kraft, Mellow Moss, Chocolate Chip, Fabriano Hot Pressed watercolor paper, patterened paper from My Minds Eye
Ink: VersaFine Vintage Sepia, Adirondack reinkers in Sandal, Lemonade, Cloudy Blue, Latte, Juniper, and Peach Bellini
Accessories: Fiskars basketweave texture plate, antiqued copper brads, SU! grosgrain ribbon, watercolor brushes, Jody's foam boosters
Very pretty card!
