Happy Monday! For those of us in the U.S., it's a holiday - Martin Luther King, Jr. Day - which means no school, no work, etc. A perfect time to head to your crafty space and create. Or you could celebrate as my husband does: every MLK weekend, he and a bunch of friends head to Las Vegas to honor Dr. King. Mmm-hmm. I'm sure that's exactly the sort of social progress Dr. King was fighting for during the civil rights movement.
I kid, but I'm actually happy for him to go. He's pretty good about bringing back something shiny for his better half.
That guy - he's no dummy. It's no wonder we've been together for the past 23 years or so.
But back to what I was saying about getting crafty & creative. Need a jumping-off point? Well, you're in the right place because I have the brand-spankin'-new MOJO MONDAY sketch, hot-off-the-press from the one-and-only, pregnant-with-twin-boys, owner/illustrator of VERVE STAMPS, JULEE TILMAN! (If this were The Muppet Show, Kermit would be sitting in the 'O' and yelling "Yeah!" while flailing his little green arms, and then the intro music would start...)
It's time to get things started! Here's the sketch you've all been waiting for:
And here's a Valentine-y interpretation of it, using Your Next Stamp's sweet Fancy Frame stamp set and die:
Isn't that patterned paper fun? It's from a 6"x6" pad called 'Love Story' from Fancy Pants Designs. Here's a close up of the image panel:
I stamped the frame on 110 lb. Neenah Classic Crest Brilliant White cardstock (I get mine from The Cat's Pajamas), which I also used for the card base. I stamped the sentiment on to Banana Split card stock (this is from MFT, but I don't think they sell card stock anymore), colored the hearts in with a Copic marker. I stamped out the little envelope on white, colored the heart, cut it out and pasted it on the yellow panel, just for a little contrast. From this angle, you can see how I popped the frame up on Jody's Foam Boosters for added depth and dimension.
It's bright and happy - just the way I like 'em. :) I'm going to make an effort to actually mail out the Valentines I make this year. Isn't that a novel idea?

And, of course, you'll want to visit the Mojo Monday blog for all the info you need to play along with us this week. Have a great day, and thanks for coming by to see me.
This is great fun, Carole!
