Yay! It's release day for all the new goodies from TAYLORED EXPRESSIONS! I personally love that you don't have to wait forever and a day once you've seen what you want to place your order with TE; yesterday was the only day of Sneak Peeks and then BOOM! Today you can place your order! What can I say? I'm an instant-gratification-kind-of-gal...
Today I've got a card for you that features the new DESIGNER MINI TAGS dies. This particular Taylored Die set comes with eight lovely little tag dies that will be the cherry on top of your creations. Let me show you what I mean:
For this card, I used the brand new (and now available to you) stamp set HUGS & KISSES (which also comes with its own coordinating die so you don't have spend time fussy-cutting around the jar). To create the main image, I first stamped out the hearts in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then masked the bottom hearts before stamping the jar on top. After cutting out the jar with abovementioned die, I colored the image with Copics and then coated it with VersaMark. Next, I covered it with a layer of UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel) and heat set it, to give it an authentic, glassy look. The piece de resistance, however, is the tiny tag with the 'Preserves' label, tied around the jar with a bit of linen thread. Love those DESIGNER MINI TAGS!
Usually I'm a wee bit too lazy to decorate the inside of a card (although, as a practical matter, a long-winded gal like meself also needs some room to write in a card; isn't it disappointing to get a card that reads nothing but, say, 'love, Shmoopy"?), but because I wanted to use the sweet sentiment that comes with this set, I made the effort:
I have to admit, as I was making this card, I was salivating a bit (gross, I know...) in anticipation of the raspberry hearts that would soon be on sale at a local drug/gift store here in Claremore, America. Every year between Christmas and Valentine's Day, J&J Pharmacy sells these candy hearts by the ounce. I allow myself to purchase them once a year for consumption (I have the same rule with the McRib), and I buy lots of little bags as gifts for friends and teachers. They are so, so delicious. This is what they look like:
Might have to go pick some up before I head to CHA on Friday. Chewing on them would definitely help relieve the effect of cabin pressure on my ears, don't you think? And if I'm using the candy for medicinal purposes, that shouldn't count as my one consumption opportunity for the year, don't you agree?
Okay. Enough about my candy fetish. Ready to see what the other fabulous gals on the Baker's Dozen (and this month's WONDERFUL Guest Designer - squee!) have created to appeal to your visual sweet tooth? Then skip on over to the following ladies' blogs:

Such a cute card, Carole! And now you have me salivating too! It doesn't take much for a candy junkie like me! And I actually laughed out loud when I read your McRib comment. My mom is the same way. I'm not a fan myself...the things make me gag, but I know they are a favorite of many!

Can(dy)I just tell you how much I love this card? It reminds me of the old blue glass (I'm sure there some fancy name for it), and then you mention those raspberry candies that you've shared with me before...ah, my heart and tongue are all a-flutter!
Have fun in sunny CA! Wish I was going to be there...
