From my window at the moment? It's a blustery day, here in Claremore, America. The rocking chairs on the front porch are seesawing to and fro, and what's left of last year's leaves are being blown off the trees. But, that's March for you, no? In like a lion, and whatnot.
Hopefully, March will cooperate and within a few short weeks my view will look more like this:
The new FROM MY WINDOW set by Taylored Expressions is absolutely gorgeous and full of serene little scenes like the one above. My goal in making this card was to create a vignette in which it appeared the recipient was looking out the window of someone's chi-chi living room. I did a little interior decorating via TE's Quatrefoil Cutting Plate for the wall paper (I've seen lots of chic quatrefoil walls - especially in dark gray - on Pinterest), and the architecturally awesome window frame was created using the brand new ARCHED WINDOW DIE. The graphic wall art (otherwise known as 'the sentiment') was stamped in red for contrast, and framed using some wood paper.
Both the window and the framed sentiment are embellished with scraps of acetate to make them look more realistic. Here's a close-up of the window so you can see what I mean:
Looks just like a real window - don't it?! Paper magic! After playing around with From My Window and the Arched Window Die, I came up with lots of fun possibilities for home decor and neighbor gifts.
I thought my card was pretty clever when I made it, then I took a gander at what my fellow Baker's Dozen teammates came up with and, ooftie! I pale in comparison (and I'm very fair skinned, to begin with). You'll definitely want to check out what these talented chickies have put together to entertain and inspire you:
I'll be back tomorrow with another TE Sneak Peek, and a Long Distance Dedication to a stamping friend who shares similar taste in just about everything with me. Until then, keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars...

Giiiirrrlll!! This is so stinkin' sweet!!!! It looks like the vision that I have for my craft room. I actually have the stencil - I just need to do it. Oh, and it'd probably be cacti out the window instead of that sweet little tree swing. I might just have to add that quatrefoil plate to my cart . . . it's calling my name!! Miss you mucho!!
