Greetings from hot & humid St. Paul, MN! I don't think it's quite right that we should come so far north of Oklahoma and still be subjected to temps in the 90's, do you? I'm sure when we leave, Minnesotans will once again be able to enjoys highs in the upper 70's and low 80's. *sigh*
On to more interesting topics... Like this month's Deluxe Subscription Kit from Taylored Expressions:
Lots and lots of cute and colorful goodies in that bundle, all of which have been color coordinated and selected by that stylish trendsetter, Taylor VanBruggen, herself! Included in the July Deluxe Kit are:
- 6x6 Patterned Paper pad - Basic Grey Knee Highs
- 12 sheets of coordinating 8.5" x 11" cardstock
- 5 yards of ribbon
- Pre-trimmed red rubber stamp set on a sturdy 4" x 6" panel
- Coordinating Cute Hoot dies
- BONUS: Deluxe Subscribers receive an exclusive coupon code for 10% off all of your Taylored Expressions purchases all month long! (discount begins on the 1st of the upcoming month)
Here's a little something I threw together using this month's kit:
A little cray-cray, I know, but let me explain... See, I was inspired by the patterned paper from Basic Grey's Kneehighs pad and thus selected those funky ink colors. At first I tried to call forth my inner Sankari and dot the scallops on the gold background paper with Liquid Pearls. I don't know how Sankari does her magic with Liquid Pearls, but everytime I use them, it ends up a hot mess that resembles a bunch of misshapen nipples. Instead of my inner Sankari, I wound up summoning my innner Liberace and covered the Liquid Pearls with sequins.
When I showed the results to my husband, he said, "Hmmm... I'm not sure that's my favorite card you've ever made..." Spoken like a true politician!
The good news is, I still have lots of supplies left in my July Deluxe Kit to try, try again. Fortunately for you, the rest of the Baker's Dozen and Key Ingredients Design Team have far prettier samples to share with you today:
I'll be back tomorrow with another project featuring the July Key Ingredients Kit in which I will hopefully redeem myself a tiny bit. ;)
Super cute card Carole. Love the hello talk bubbles with those rich colors.

I, personally, love the colors and the way you used the speech bubbles.

Oh How FUN is this!! 8-) Love the bright cheery stamped Hello's! and I know exactly what you mean, I have the same luck with liquid pearls, no matter how hard I try to channel my inner Sankari! lol ;-).. Love your sequined solution though! Looks Awesome Lady! 8-)
