Howdy, pardners! I'm beyond pleased to report to you that Carter came through his surgery with flying colors. He was very anxious this time - he's his momma's boy, and thus a natural born dreader, and he was completely nonplussed at the thought of having to wear the mask and go under via the gas. Once he shared his fears with the nurse, though, she gave him the option of getting his anesthesia via an I.V and he was fine. Who knew some kids would prefer getting a needle vs. inhaling smelly gas?
After spending last night in the hospital, we will be released this morning, and then go to an appointment in Burnsville to get his new AFOs (ankle-foot orthotics, aka leg braces). We should be in the air by 3 and home in time for dinner. Big hugs and thanks to all of you who sent us good vibes, prayers and warm wishes! We're hopeful that this could be the last surgery Carter has to endure for a while, and maybe ever (fingers crossed).
Meanwhile, back at the ranch...
