Yesterday, Carter and I went to see 'The Lion King' (the musical) with his Aunt Heather and his cousins, Jack & Blair. Have you ever seen it before? It's really such a gorgeous spectacle - the costumes are amazing, the music is uplifting... I can't recommend it enough.
Thus, when putting together my Mojo Monday sample for today, I felt compelled to use Lawn Fawn's adorable Critters On the Savannah set. But first, let me show you this week's sketch:
Because it's the last Monday of the month, you've got the option to go round or square. Last time, I went round, so this time, I felt like I needed to go square so I wouldn't be playing shape-favorites. I'd hate to make all the squares in the world feel bad...
Simba's crown came from Lawn Fawn's Critters Ever After stamp set. Since Blair's birthday is next month (she'll be turning four), I chose a color scheme featuring her favorite color -- PINK! -- and papers from My Mind's Eye's My Girl 6x6 patterned paper pad. I first stamped Simba's crown on Crafter's Companion's UltraSmooth Premium White Cardstock, masked it off with Eclipse Masking Strips, and then stamped him on top in Momento Tuxedo Black Ink. I masked his whole body, then sponge inked his background in ColorBox Glacier Ice ink.
The current Lawnscaping Challenge is to use dimension on a card, like so...
You know I can't resist a two-fer, so I stamped Simba's crown and head once more and popped it up on Dimesional Dots:
You can see I added a little faux stitching around the pink layer with a paper piercer and white Prismacolor pencil.
